Holy Youth Praise Experience!! H.Y.P.E Praise Service- The person leading our song service should be prepared to lead 5-6 songs. We will not have a piano in the room be we have several different CD’s for the children to choose music form. If they wish, they may also use the re or blue books form the sanctuary, however, they will not have musical accompaniment. This position will rotate each week. Your child will know at least one week ahead of time to prepare for services. HYPE Fund-We will select different children in class to take up the ‘offering’ each week. This money will be set aside and put back into the HYPE class. We do this to help children understand the importance of paying their 10% in tithes to the church. If your child receives an allowance, please help them to understand what 10% would be and the importance of paying tithes. We will have a quarterly activity with this fund, the youth in the class will decide by suggestions/vote what we will do. This may be going to the movies, have a lock-in, cook-outs, etc.. Youth Experience-The person leading our “youth experience” will be expected to “teach” the other children in class. The possibilities are endless in this area. The child may choose to do a devotional, use our puppets to teach a bible lesson, or even select other children to help them act out a bible story (we have costumes available). As I said the possibilities are endless. We just need to be sure that we stay focused on Christ’s teachings in all that we do. The parents will need to help their children plan and prepare for this. If the parents do not feel comfortable or need more ideas, feel free to call any of the adult teachers for help. HYPE Activity-If time allows, we will have activities after our youth experience. We will prepare age-based activities for the group. We may have 3 year olds doing coloring sheets, while 10 year olds do books of the bible. Again, this is if time allows. The child youth experience should be able to tell us approximately how long their section will last. Discussion Time-W will use this time to talk about what we have learned in class. The adult teacher along with the youth experience child will lead this each week. This will also be time for any prayer requests, as well as simply talking about situations at school or home that may arise or any questions the youth may have. |
